What exactly do you fix?

Two things: overall loudness against the -16 LUFS standard podcast platforms expect, and the swing between your quietest speech and your loudest - the thing that makes a listener reach for the volume control throughout an episode. Both are measured, not guessed at.

What don't you fix?

Clarity, room sound, microphone quality, and anything above about 8 kHz on a low-bitrate recording. Those are capture-side problems - a bad microphone, a reverberant room, low encode quality - and no amount of mastering after the fact can put back what the recording never captured. We would rather tell you that upfront than have you find out after paying for something that couldn't have worked.

Is the free first fix really free, no card?

Yes. Send a link to one recent episode, we master it on the Podcast/Spoken profile, and you get it back to compare against the original. No account, no card, no obligation to continue.

Question 4

How does the levelling actually work?

Accepted Answer

A sliding-window gain rider measures your speaker's normal speech level across the whole recording, then gently lifts quiet passages towards it and leaves loud ones alone - gated so pauses and room tone are never boosted. In verification testing this closed a 10 dB step between passages to well under 1 dB, with the noise floor unchanged.

What if we don't publish weekly?

Fine - the free fix and the ongoing service both work at whatever cadence you actually publish. Weekly is simply the most common pattern we've measured.

Question 6

Do you need our login details for our podcast host or streaming platform?

Accepted Answer

No. We only need a link to (or a copy of) the audio itself. You publish the finished file yourself, wherever you already do.

Will we be added to a mailing list?

Accepted Answer

Only if you tick a box saying so. Sending the free fix back to you is not marketing - it is the thing you asked for.

How is this different from a human editing service?

Accepted Answer

Human sermon-audio services typically charge $200-350 for one episode, or several hundred dollars a month in retainers, because a person is doing it by hand. This is the same measured processing, run automatically, at a fraction of that - which is also why it can't fix things a trained ear could catch by hand, like a bad microphone placement. It is a different tool for a different budget, not a replacement for a full production service.
